REALTIME BAND CONDITIONS WEB SITE <http://www.bandconditions.com>:
The purpose of this experimental Web site is to provide 24-7-365 actual
(REALTIME) band condition information to CW QRPp, QRPe and CW/SSB for
Contesters interested in increasing their scores. It can also be of
benefit to other Radio Amateurs to determine band conditions for Nets
and casual QSO's. This information is NOT based on any software pre-
dictions or any kind of satellite based readings. It is based on a
new Ionospheric sounding method called "HF Ionospheric Interferometry"
which operates very similarly to the PolSAR system used by NASA.

Also, check out the VOACAP predication Web page at:

Access to the main functions of www.425dxn.org is provided by the 425DXN App
for Android. It is available on Google Play - free of charge, no ads. Enjoy!

CLUB LOG'S MOST WANTED LIST ---> The latest Most Wanted List, generated on
1 October is available at https://secure.clublog.org/mostwanted.php. The
information is derived from QSOs uploaded to Club Log (currently 447.8
million log entries available for analysis) and, to improve quality, only
QSOs that have QSLs confirmed are considered to be worked. The most wanted
charts are rebuilt once per month, on average.

RI1F ---> RI1F has been active from Viktoriya Island (EU-190), Franz Josef
Land [425DXN 1378] since 4 October. Some 4,500 QSOs have been made so far.
Initial plans were for the team to be QRV for one week, and to upload their
logs to Club Log (search for RI1F/EU-190) while on the island.

VEFF ---> Dave, VA3RJ reports that "the Canada Flora & Fauna (VEFF) program
is well under way". VEFF awards are available for activators and chasers in
various categories, and activities are also good for the World Wide Flora &
Fauna (WWFF) awards. See http://www.qsl.net/va3rj/veff.html for complete
information.

WRTC 2018 ---> WRTC 2018 e.V., organizer and host of the World Radiosport
Team Championship (WRTC) 2018, has announced the 63 teams that will be
invited to compete in Germany next July. WRTC is a competition among two-
operator teams. Team Leaders have been selected for each qualifying region
based on two years of qualifying contest scores. The Team Leaders were given
the option to select any operator as a Team Mate to complete their team.

425 DX NEWS MAGAZINE ---> The April 2016 issue is now available for
download at www.425dxn.org/monthly/index.html. [TNX IZ3EBA]

DXCC NEWS ---> 5A1AL (Libya, all operations) has been approved for DXCC
credit. If you have had this rejected in a prior application, you can send
a note to dxccadmin[@]arrl.org to be placed on the list for an update to
your record. Please note the submission date and/or reference number where
the rejection was noted to expedite recovery of the information.

OPERATING STANDARDS BOOKLET ---> Over the last eight years, the booklet
"Ethics and Operating Procedures for the Radio Amateur"
( www.hamradio-operating-ethics.org ) has become a respected work describing
the best standards of operating on the amateur bands. Translated into most
major languages, the booklet by John Devoldere, ON4UN and Mark
Demeuleneere, ON4WW, is a valuable reference work for all radio amateurs.
Mark and John recently contacted IARU, explaining that they felt it
appropriate for IARU to become the custodian of the booklet into the
future. The IARU Administrative Council accepted this offer with gratitude,
and on 5 May Mark and John met Don Beattie, G3BJ, President IARU Region 1,
in Brussels to officially hand over the document. IARU will now carry
forward the work in future years to ensure its continuing relevance and
currency. [TNX IARU Region 1]

DXCC DELETION OF KINGMAN REEF ---> The ARRL Awards Committee has voted to
delete Kingman Reef (KH5) from the DXCC List, effective 29 March 2016.
Kingman Reef will be added to the Deleted Entities List on 29 March 2016.
The total number of entities on the List will drop from 340 to 339.
The deletion process is described in DXCC Rules Section II DXCC List
Criteria, Part 5(a) Deletion Criteria: "An entity may be deleted from the
List if it no longer satisfies the criteria under which it was added.
However, if the entity continues to meet one or more currently existing
rules, it will remain on the List."
With respect to the previous paragraph's text, Kingman Reef's original
addition by virtue of separate administration has changed (separate
administration by the U.S. Navy has been removed), and the reef does not
meet any current criteria to remain on the list. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service administers Kingman Reef and Palmyra Island. The reef is too close
to Palmyra Island to count as a separate entity. The reef is now considered
part of the Palmyra/Jarvis DXCC entity.

DXCC members who have affirmed credit with Kingman Reef will see their
current entity totals drop by one on their DXCC awards - including on the
bands and modes where Kingman Reef credit is given. They will also see
their DXCC Challenge totals drop commensurately. Honor Roll status will now
be attainable after confirming 330 entities on the DXCC List.

INTREPID SPIRIT AWARD ---> The Intrepid-DX Group ( INTREPID SPIRIT AWARD ) is
pleased to announce that Yasuo "Zorro" Miyazawa, JH1AJT is the recipient of
the 4th annual Intrepid Spirit Award, made in memory of James McLaughlin,
WA2EWE/T6AF (killed in Kabul Afghanistan, on 27 April 2011). The award -
presented at the International DX Convention (Visalia) on 16 April - is to
recognize Zorro's outstanding efforts to activate rare and often difficult
entities such as Eritrea, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
